Will Larkey

Hello! My name is Will and I’m a Senior at Roanoke College. I’m a history major, and in my free time I like to hangout with my friends, watch sports, and play video games. Originally, I’m from New Jersey but recently my family and I moved to South Carolina and have been loving the warmer weather!

This is a screenshot of the confirmation email regarding the metadata for the Blue Ridge Lambda Press. The file is a combination of 8 pages of the BLRP from July to August 1991.

Beaufort Republican. [volume] (Beaufort, S.C.), 09 Nov. 1871. Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers. Lib. of Congress. <https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn84026857/1871-11-09/ed-1/seq-1/>

This source mentions Victoria Woohull addressing a letter to a New York paper, detailing her struggles with reform, accrediting some of the negative feedback and difficulties to her sex. The author makes a joke about how one Victoria Woodhull is enough for the world, showing how she was looked down upon for her determined views.

Skill #4

“Will Larkey’s Map” by Will Larkey, Created in Google Maps, data provided by the Programming Historian.

For my location, I chose Chatham, New Jersey. This place is meaningful to me because I grew up there for most of my childhood and early adulthood. The additional places added are Chatham high school, Cougar field, and the Chatham municipal building. These specific places are where I created some of my fondest memories. The map was created through the use of Google My Maps, as well as has information on British Fat Import data taken from the Programming Historian.
